Book Review: The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name

Whether you’re 4 or 104, if you like to read the Bible as a storybook, this storybook by Sally Lloyd-Jones is for you. Gorgeous illustrations by Jago set off God’s story from beginning to end. Adam and Eve, Noah and Moses, David and Goliath, Old Testament people and prophets and of course Jesus—lots of stories about Jesus and his contemporaries--lead you from creation to Jesus’ death on the cross and on to his appearance to Saul and to John’s revelation on the island of Patmos.

This inch-thick hardcover book tells the story of salvation with Jesus as the Rescuer of mankind. With playful writing and whimsical illustrations, the key stories of scripture come to life. Old Testament stories whisper of Christ. New Testament stories showcase his life and God’s love for his people.

I enjoyed reading this book as much as I know my grandchildren will. It’s a great book to explain salvation to seekers, to review God’s story for new Christians and to offer a neat synopsis to mature Christians.
